Dr. Orathay Thongsamouth received her Bachelor of Sciences in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Physiology from the University of California, Davis. She later went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in Houston, Texas. Dr. Thongsamouth is a State of California Registered Optometrist with Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent Certification and is licensed to diagnose and treat infections and diseases of the eye.
Dr. Thongsamouth did her clinical training at the pretigious University Eye Institute in Houston under Family Practice, Cornea & Contact Lens, Ocular Diagnostic and Medical Eye, and Pediatric and Binocular Vision. She also had clinical training at the renowned Eye Center of Texas where she performed Lasik co-management, cataract post-op, and monitored retinal diseases. She also spent part of her clinical training servicing our men and women of the army and air forces at Brooke’s Army Base in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Thongsamouth also enjoys practicing optometry as an associate doctor at a private optometry practice in Modesto, CA --Vision Faire Optometry. She prides herself in providing complete eye examinations to patients of all ages and specializes in children and hard-to-fit contact lenses. Dr. Thongsamouth is a talented respected doctor who takes special effort in listening to patients’ concerns regarding their vision and eye health. She speaks Lao, Thai, and clinical Spanish.
She stays informed about the latest trend and technology involving vision care and contact lenses by
attending continuing educational courses in order to provide the best vision care to her patients.
